Smiling K9s Rescue Inc.

Smiling K9s Rescue holds a special place in our hearts here at 8th Day Designs. Located in Ossian, Indiana, Smiling K9s Rescue is where we adopted our current pup, whom they rescued from a high kill shelter in the area. As with many rescues, they rely on donations in order to care for the dogs in their care. As a way to show our appreciation for the work that they do, we completely redesigned their site from the ground up.

Built on Wordpress, the goal was to make posting and sharing information quick and simple. Integrating Share This on the site allows them to post a story and share it on their own Facebook page, as well as letting site visitors share the post on their own social media pages. Additionally, they can easily post events, adoption updates, and take donations all from their site.

Flanagan's Restaurant & Pub

Flanagan's has been a favorite restaurant of ours since we first came to Fort Wayne in 2001. With their menu being the size of a county phone directory, it was always hard to either 1. Remember what was on their menu, or 2. Choose something from the menu. The bigger problem, though, was that they didn't have a web site for several years, even though they had a domain name. After contacting the owner and discussing the importance of a site with him, one thing led to another. He knew he needed a great site to compete with all the other restaurants in the area, and we knew he needed an even greater site to showcase how awesome the place was compared to all the chain restaurants.

Laurel Ridge Home Association

The president of the homeowners association wanted a way to cut down the amount of paper they were sending to residents of Laurel Ridge. 8th Day Designs designed a blog as an easy way for the president and board to keep residents up to date on events, announcements, and notifications without having to print and mail paperwork to each house.

Hoot Landscape & Design

Hoot Landscape and Design had a web site but did not update it much, as the design was out of date. They came to 8th Day Designs with one goal - to have the best landscaping company web site in the area.

Trusting us with total creative freedom, we scrapped their old design and restyled the site from the ground up. With landscaping being a very visual business, we put the focus on the final results of the projects they completed. Individual galleries were set up for each of their business areas and included a variety of before and after shots. Search engine optimization also played a large role with content, as Fort Wayne has numerous landscaping companies to choose from.

After launching the new site, Hoot Landscape and Design saw an increase in their search engine rankings, traffic, time spent on the site, number of page views, and a significant decrease in their bounce rate.

mastodon DIGITAL OBJECT NETWORK

The mastodon DIGITAL OBJECT NETWORK (mDON) is IPFW Helmke Library's online collection of the prolific work of scholars, performers, athletes, guests, and community partners. The library approached 8th Day Designs to create new mockups to revamp its four year old site.

DAVAD Motorsports

The owners of Davad Motorsports had asked for a new web site after being unsatisfied with their GoDaddy hosted solution. They wanted an ecommerce site for about 50 automotive products to start, but have the opportunity to grow and sell more products. Visual design was very important to them, as was the ability to create a site with a shopping cart that was user-friendly and, while they didn't want to compete with the "big dogs," they wanted something that looked and functioned like it could.
